Sweet Shrimp and Bacon Alfredo Sauce
This was simply amazing! I was going to make a bacon wrapped shrimp. When my daughter asked what was for dinner, and I told her, she asked if I would leave some unwrapped. So, I decided to compromise with her and make this. When I asked if I could just throw them in some Alfredo sauce, she was so good with that. Hence, the Sweet Shrimp and Bacon Alfredo Sauce was born.
I could have made my Homemade Alfredo Sauce and added the sweetness to it, but this was a spur of the moment idea. Thank goodness I had a spare jar of the sauce on hand. I think I should make tons of that homemade sauce and put it in some mason jars. Hmm…should have thought of that before.
I added butter, sweetened condensed milk (the sweetness), parsley and salt and pepper to the Alfredo Sauce. This is the first time I ever tried to make the sauce sweet. Not sure why that even entered my head, but I am really glad it did. Then I added in my bacon and the shrimp after I cooked them. Only somewhat of a shortcut, but a shortcut nonetheless.
Serve this sauce over pasta of your choice. Garnish with some parsley, or fresh oregano if you so desired. This would also be great with some garlic toast on the side. I’m trying to cut the carbs back so I skipped it since I had pasta.
Do you make your own homemade sauce and can it for future meals?
