Add Character to Your Bookcase

Fabric-backed bookcases

Add Character to Your Bookcase

Sometimes we have limited expenses to spend on furnishings and are forced to buy something less than ideal.  For me, my less than ideal furnishing was a couple of cheap Walmart bookcases in black.  The bookcases come in a box ready to assemble.  The assembly isn’t hard and it comes with all the necessary hardware, tools, and directions.  I, however, added a step in the assembly process; fabric to the backing.  Now these bookcases have a lot more character and add flavor to the room. Check it out!

* I only put fabric on the upper and lower opening since I was using this bookcase for media purposes.

Cut a hole in the back and slide your cords under the fabric to help conceal.

5 shelf bookcase. I only put fabric in the back of the first three openings…because that’s all the spare fabric I had left to use:-) I have this one in my home-school room(which is a work in progress)

Much cuter than just plan ole black!

  1. Good post. I learn something new and challenging on blogs I
stumbleupon everyday. It’s always interesting to read content from other authors and use a little something
    from other sites.
